The Government Media Office in Gaza announced Wednesday evening that 87 aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip, marking the first delivery of humanitarian supplies since Israel imposed a strict blockade more than 80 days ago.
Ismail Al-Thawabta, Director General of the Media Office, told “87 trucks carrying various humanitarian aid entered Gaza as of 21:55 GMT.” He noted that the supplies are designated for several international and local humanitarian organizations operating in the enclave.
“These deliveries are part of ongoing efforts to meet the urgent humanitarian needs of our people in Gaza,” Al-Thawabta added, highlighting the catastrophic conditions facing residents under siege.
In a later statement, the Government Media Office confirmed the trucks’ arrival, emphasizing that Gaza requires a minimum of 500 trucks per day loaded with food, medical, and relief supplies, along with at least 50 fuel trucks, to prevent further deterioration of living conditions amid a worsening famine caused by the prolonged Israeli closure of border crossings.
