The Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda agreed on Friday on terms for economic cooperation across several sectors, as part of implementing a peace agreement signed between the two countries in June.

The agreement covers areas such as energy, infrastructure, mineral supply chains, natural reserves, and public health, according to a statement from the U.S. State Department, which acted as a mediator.

The agreement establishes a framework for regional economic integration between the two neighbors, following years of tension.
