London police announced Sunday the arrest of nearly 900 people during demonstrations in support of the banned group Palestine Action, marking the highest number of detentions since the protests began.

Organizers insisted the rallies were peaceful, noting that those detained included priests, veterans, and descendants of Holocaust survivors.

The arrests come amid heightened U.K. security measures against pro-Palestinian activism.
