A senior Hamas official said on Saturday that the Palestinian movement is ready to immediately begin comprehensive negotiations to resolve all outstanding issues, following its Friday agreement to release prisoners under U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to end the conflict in Gaza.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the official stated, “Hamas has informed mediators that it is prepared to commence the prisoner exchange immediately once an agreement with the Israeli side is reached to establish the necessary field conditions.”
The official added that the group is “ready to begin negotiations promptly to address all outstanding issues.”
Hamas’s announcement on Friday confirmed its willingness to release all prisoners but did not address key elements of Trump’s plan, including disarmament and the withdrawal of Hamas fighters from Gaza at the conclusion of hostilities.
