Al Ahly clinched the Egyptian Super Cup title for a record-extending 16th time after defeating arch-rivals Zamalek 2–0 on Sunday at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Al Ahly, the Egyptian Premier League champions, advanced to the final by beating Ceramica Cleopatra 2–1 in Thursday’s semifinal. Meanwhile, Zamalek, winners of the Egypt Cup, reached the final after overcoming Pyramids via a penalty shootout following a goalless draw in regular time.

With this victory, Al Ahly further strengthens its status as the most decorated club in the history of the Egyptian Super Cup.
