Egyptians Abroad Begin Voting in Second Phase of Parliamentary Elections

Egyptians living abroad began casting their votes on Friday in the first day of the second phase of parliamentary elections, held at 139 embassies and consulates across 117 countries.

Authorities described the turnout as “remarkable,” particularly in Gulf states, ahead of polling inside Egypt scheduled for November 24-25.

The second phase of domestic voting covers 13 governorates: Cairo, Qalyubia, Dakahlia, Monufia, Gharbia, Kafr El Sheikh, Sharqia, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, North Sinai, and South Sinai.

Voting abroad is set to conclude on Saturday, with domestic polling taking place on Monday and Tuesday. Runoff elections are scheduled for December 15-16 abroad and December 17-18 within Egypt.
