Israeli police raided the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) headquarters in Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood early on Thursday, followed by municipal teams who conducted searches and confiscated the security staff’s phones.
In a brief statement, UNRWA said large numbers of Israeli security forces remained at the site, with no further information available due to communication disruptions. The agency added that no UN personnel are currently present at the location, describing the unauthorized and forced entry as an unacceptable violation of UNRWA’s privileges and immunities as a UN agency.
