Indonesia’s national disaster management agency said on Saturday that the death toll from recent floods and landslides has risen to 1,003, with 218 people still missing.

The agency said floods that hit the provinces of North and West Sumatra and Aceh about two weeks ago also injured more than 5,400 people, while around 1.2 million residents remain in temporary shelters.
