Russian general killed in car explosion south of Moscow, investigators say

A senior Russian army general was killed in a car explosion in southern Moscow on Monday, Russia’s Investigative Committee said, adding that it was looking into possible Ukrainian involvement.

In a statement, the committee said Major General Vanil Sarvarov, head of the operational training department of the General Staff, died from his injuries after an explosive device detonated beneath a car on Yasenyevaya Street in the Russian capital. Ukraine has not immediately commented.
