A Tunisian court on Tuesday sentenced 11 defendants in absentia to life imprisonment for the assassination of Tunisian aviation engineer Mohamed Zouari, a member of Hamas’s military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, according to defense lawyer Mokhtar Al-Jamaai on Facebook.

Al-Jamaai said none of the defendants were present in court, as all remain at large. The session was held before the criminal chamber specializing in terrorism cases at the Tunis primary court in the capital.
