Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced that Ukraine attempted to carry out a large-scale drone attack targeting the residence of President Vladimir Putin in the Novgorod region between December 28 and 29.

The ministry said the attack was launched from multiple directions using 91 long-range drones, all of which were intercepted over the Bryansk, Smolensk, and Novgorod regions with support from electronic warfare systems.

Moscow described the attack as “carefully planned” and warned that it represents a dangerous escalation.
