Egypt and Qatar Sign MoU to Boost Cooperation on LNG Supplies

Egypt and Qatar signed a memorandum of understanding on Sunday in Doha to enhance cooperation in the energy sector and the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments, in a move aimed at diversifying and securing Egypt’s energy supplies.

The agreement was signed on the Qatari side by Minister of State for Energy Affairs and CEO of QatarEnergy Saad al-Kaabi, and on the Egyptian side by Minister of Petroleum Karim Badawi.

The MoU aims to strengthen partnerships in the energy sector, particularly in LNG supplies, as Cairo seeks to mitigate risks associated with volatility in regional energy flows.
