Egypt’s House of Representatives adjourned its emergency closed-door session, convened on Sunday at the request of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, until Monday to continue discussing ways to support Saudi Arabia in response to attacks targeting the kingdom.
Sources explained that the postponement was intended to give additional lawmakers an opportunity to express their views. No details were disclosed regarding decisions made during the session or potential measures under consideration.
The parliamentary meeting followed a session of the National Defense Council chaired by President el-Sisi. The council declared Egypt’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that the kingdom’s national security is closely linked to Egyptian and broader Arab national security.
It also stressed Egypt’s commitment to continuing political and diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and resolving regional crises through peaceful means.
