Massive Russian Attack Deepens Ukraine’s Energy Crisis

A large-scale Russian drone attack involving more than 150 drones early Sunday has worsened the energy crisis in Ukraine amid extreme winter weather, leaving four people dead and nearly twenty injured, according to Ukrainian authorities.

The Air Force said it shot down 125 drones, while others struck civilian sites and electric facilities across the regions of Kharkiv, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk.

Local authorities also reported that Russia carried out 821 attacks within 24 hours on 27 locations in Zaporizhzhia.

The strikes are part of a broader Russian escalation targeting critical infrastructure to weaken Kyiv’s resilience as winter sets in.
