The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas announced the dissolution of its governmental bodies in Gaza and the transfer of responsibilities to an independent technocratic committee, according to spokesperson Hazem Qassem.

Qassem called for the swift formation of the committee and the immediate start of its duties.

The announcement comes amid ongoing Israeli air and artillery strikes on multiple areas of the Gaza Strip, particularly east of al-Bureij and in the al-Tuffah neighborhood.

Israeli Occupation admitted killing three Palestinians, claiming they constituted a “threat.”

The developments coincide with severe humanitarian conditions exacerbated by winter storms and damage to displacement camps.
