The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) on Thursday warned that food aid in Sudan could run out within two months due to funding shortages, as millions continue to face severe hunger nearly three years after the war began.
The WFP confirmed that food rations have been reduced to the bare minimum necessary for survival, adding that “by the end of March, our food stock in Sudan will be depleted.”
The agency cautioned that without immediate additional funding, “millions of people will be deprived of vital food assistance within weeks.”
