The U.S. Justice Department will allow members of Congress full, unredacted access to files related to the case of late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was accused of running a sex trafficking network involving minors.
In a letter issued on Friday, the department said lawmakers would be able to review more than three million published documents starting on Feb. 9.
The letter said members of Congress seeking access must notify the department at least 24 hours in advance, and that the files may only be reviewed on computers located at Justice Department premises.
The move comes amid growing political pressure for greater transparency over the Epstein case, which has sparked widespread controversy in the United States.
