Trump Says ‘Peace Council’ Members Pledged Over $5 Billion for Gaza

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday that member states of what he called the “Peace Council” had pledged more than $5 billion to support humanitarian efforts and reconstruction in Gaza.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump expressed high expectations for the council’s first official meeting, scheduled to take place in Washington on Thursday.

The U.S. president referred to what he described as his administration’s success in securing the release of Israeli hostages and said it had presented an “ambitious vision” for civilians in Gaza.

Trump also spoke of the possibility of achieving “global peace,” describing the Peace Council as potentially “the most important international body in history.”

Further details on the pledges and how the funds would be allocated were not immediately available, and there was no immediate comment from other member states.
