Israeli forces carried out an explosion near the southern Lebanese town of Adaisseh early on Friday, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported.
The agency said the large blast occurred at around 2:20 a.m. local time, without providing further details on its nature or whether it caused any damage.
The incident comes amid a ceasefire agreement in effect since Nov. 27 between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah, following more than a year of hostilities during which the group sustained blows to its military infrastructure and leadership.
Under the agreement, Hezbollah fighters are to withdraw from areas south of the Litani River, about 30 km (20 miles) from the border, and dismantle military infrastructure, in exchange for an increased deployment of the Lebanese army and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.
