Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune signed a decree establishing new legal provisions governing the revocation of Algerian citizenship, published in the Official Gazette No. 18.
The decree outlines cases in which individuals may be stripped of citizenship — whether acquired or original — particularly following a judicial conviction for felonies harming vital national interests or state security.
It also applies to rulings issued inside or outside Algeria carrying sentences of no less than five years.
