Arab countries on Monday called for an end to the war being waged by Israel and the United States against Iran, warning of its consequences for regional stability while also rejecting attacks carried out by Tehran against countries in the region.
The call came during an emergency international meeting held via video conference at the invitation of the European Union to discuss current regional developments, according to official statements.
Participants included Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, and Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi.
Officials from Gulf countries, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Iraq, Armenia, and Azerbaijan also took part in the meeting.
From the European side, European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen participated.
