Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the Strait of Hormuz remains open to maritime navigation but is closed to tankers and vessels belonging to what he described as Iran’s enemies and their allies.
In an interview with MS Now, Araghchi said: “In fact, the Strait of Hormuz is open. It is only closed to tankers and ships owned by our enemies, those who attack us, and their allies. Everyone else can pass freely.”
The Iranian minister added that concerns raised by some countries about the safety of navigation in the region are “not related to Iran.”
