Trump Postpones China Visit, Citing Iran War

US President Donald Trump announced that he is postponing his planned visit to China, saying he will remain in the United States due to the ongoing war involving Iran.

Speaking during the signing of an executive order in the Oval Office, alongside Vice President JD Vance, Trump told reporters he had wanted to make the trip in early April but decided to delay it by a month.

Because of the war, I want to stay here. I feel my presence here is necessary,” he said.

Trump added that the United States is holding discussions with China, without providing further details.

In a related remark, he said China should thank the United States and assist in efforts regarding the Strait of Hormuz, noting that Beijing secures about 90 percent of its oil needs through the vital waterway.
