An Israeli official said on Wednesday that Israel targeted Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib in an overnight strike on Tehran, a day after announcing the killing of senior official Ali Larijani.

The official added that Israel has not yet confirmed Khatib’s fate following the strike.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said Tuesday that Israel would continue targeting Iranian leadership, stating: “The prime minister and I have instructed the Israeli military to continue pursuing the leadership of the Iranian regime.”

The development comes amid ongoing escalation between the two sides as the regional conflict intensifies.
