Life Sentences Issued in Tunisia’s “Secret Apparatus” Case

A Tunisian court has handed down life sentences and other severe penalties to several defendants in the case known as the “Secret Apparatus,” allegedly linked to the Ennahda Movement.

The rulings included Ennahda leader Rached Ghannouchi and other officials, who were convicted on charges related to forming and joining a terrorist organization and providing support for terrorist activities.

The court also ordered all defendants to remain under administrative supervision for five years. Ennahda condemned the verdicts, describing them as unjust and lacking the basic guarantees of a fair trial.
