Authorities in Sevastopol, on the Crimean Peninsula controlled by Russia since 2014, said Ukrainian drones targeted a historic museum on Wednesday amid continuing cross-border attacks between Russia and Ukraine.
Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Russian-appointed governor of Sevastopol, said the strike caused a fire on the roof of the museum but provided no further details regarding damage or casualties.
The museum commemorates the Crimean War of 1853–1856, which pitted the Russian Empire against an alliance that included the Ottoman Empire and several European powers.
Local authorities also announced a reduction in overnight train services due to the increasing frequency of aerial attacks and security concerns.
The incident comes as drone strikes continue to play a growing role in the conflict, with Moscow accusing Kyiv of intensifying attacks against infrastructure and strategic targets in Russian-controlled territories.
