Ukrainian officials and prosecutors said Russian attacks on cities in eastern and southeastern Ukraine killed four people, injured several others, and caused fires in residential and commercial buildings.
Prosecutors in the Donetsk region reported that three people were killed and five wounded in two bombing attacks on the city of Sloviansk, a key defensive position for Ukrainian forces in the region.
In the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia, national police said a wave of drone attacks killed one person inside a vehicle and injured seven others.
Images released online showed fires burning inside buildings and on rooftops, while parts of several structures sustained significant damage.
Zaporizhzhia regional governor Ivan Fedorov said the city was hit by five strikes, which ignited fires in a house and a shopping center and damaged an educational facility.
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which escalated following Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, continues to inflict casualties and destruction, while both sides deny deliberately targeting civilians.
