Russian-installed authorities in Crimea said on Sunday that one person was killed and two others were injured in a Ukrainian attack targeting the northern part of the peninsula.

Sergei Aksyonov, the Moscow-appointed head of Crimea, said the strike resulted in one fatality and two injuries but did not provide further details about the incident.

In late June, Russian authorities declared a state of emergency in Crimea to address the impact of Ukrainian air strikes that disrupted fuel and electricity supplies.

In recent weeks, Ukraine has intensified attacks on the peninsula’s energy infrastructure, targeting power generation facilities and fuel transport vehicles.
