Algeria’s Civil Protection teams continued their efforts on Tuesday to extinguish nine vegetation fires, including forest fires, across seven provinces, following the successful control of 124 of the 133 fires reported over the past 24 hours.
The remaining fires are located in the provinces of Bejaia, Bouira, Sétif, Saïda, Sidi Bel Abbès, Mila, and Tizi Ouzou, with extensive ground and aerial resources deployed.
Authorities confirmed that no casualties have been reported despite a heatwave that pushed temperatures above 45°C.
