The first round of negotiations between Lebanon and Israeli Occupation concluded on Tuesday in the Italian capital, Rome, under U.S. mediation after seven hours of discussions, with talks scheduled to resume on Wednesday.
The discussions focused on mechanisms for implementing the “framework agreement” governing the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory and the establishment of pilot zones to be secured by the Lebanese Army.
The Israeli Occupation expressed reservations regarding mechanisms for verifying the army’s deployment, while military operations in Lebanon continue, leaving thousands dead, injured, and displaced.
