Iranian media reported Tuesday that explosions were heard on Qeshm Island in Hormozgan Province following Washington’s announcement of a new wave of military strikes against Iran.

Provincial authorities confirmed that the island came under a U.S. attack on Tuesday evening but did not disclose the nature of the targets or the extent of the damage.

The escalation follows the collapse of a ceasefire brokered by Qatar and Pakistan after U.S. President Donald Trump announced its termination.
