The U.S. military announced Tuesday that it had resumed a comprehensive naval blockade targeting vessels heading to or departing from Iranian ports and coastal areas, while continuing military strikes inside Iran.

It said that more than 20 warships and hundreds of military aircraft are participating in operations across the Middle East.

Iranian media also reported U.S. strikes on sites located on Qeshm Island, marking the latest escalation in the confrontation between Washington and Tehran amid tensions surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.
