England concluded their 2026 World Cup campaign by securing third place after an entertaining 6–4 victory over France.
The Three Lions raced into a 4–0 lead in the first half before France reduced the deficit through Kylian Mbappé, Bradley Barcola, and Ousmane Dembélé.
Bukayo Saka completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot before Jude Bellingham rounded off the scoring.
Despite the defeat, Mbappé became the World Cup’s all-time leading scorer with 22 goals, while Michael Olise set a new record for the most assists in a single edition of the tournament.
