Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defense announced on Sunday that it had carried out a military operation targeting facilities it said were essential to supporting Houthi military capabilities, including ballistic missiles and drones.
Defense Ministry spokesperson Turki al-Maliki said the operation was a response to what Riyadh described as Houthi attacks and threats against civilians and shipping routes in the southern Red Sea.
He emphasized that Saudi Arabia would continue taking measures to deter further attacks and called on the Houthis to halt their operations.
The ministry did not provide details in the supplied statement about the locations struck or the resulting damage.
