US Disables Vessel in Gulf of Oman Amid Hormuz Explosions

US Central Command announced that it had disabled a St. Kitts and Nevis-flagged vessel after it allegedly ignored repeated warnings and attempted to leave the area following a visit to an Iranian port.

CENTCOM said the naval blockade had forced 144 commercial ships to change course by the end of October. It also announced a new task force to restrict Iranian transport routes through land borders and the Caspian Sea.

Meanwhile, Iran’s military reported that two tankers struck mines and caught fire. State media also reported two explosions on Qeshm Island and several at Jask port, without identifying their causes.

The competing military claims remain unverified.
