Ali Falih Al-Zaidi officially assumed his duties as Iraq’s Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces during a ceremony held at the Government Palace in Baghdad, attended by former Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani.
The ceremony included a guard of honor inspection and the playing of the national anthem, following the constitutional oath taken by Al-Zaidi and members of his cabinet before Parliament.
The Iraqi Parliament had granted confidence to the new government by an absolute majority, marking the beginning of a new political phase in the country.
