Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba on Wednesday launched its latest and largest artificial intelligence language model, Max-Compute3, as the company accelerates its adoption of advanced AI technologies.

Zhou Jingren, Chief Technology Officer of Alibaba Cloud, told the company’s annual Apsara Conference that the model contains more than one trillion parameters, which define how the system processes information.

He highlighted that Max-Compute3 shows strong capabilities in code generation and features so-called “autonomous agent abilities,” allowing it to make independent decisions and take actions to achieve user-defined goals with less human input than existing chatbots such as ChatGPT.
