Morocco’s World Cup campaign came to an end in the quarter-finals after a 2-0 defeat to France.
Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou starred in the first half by saving a penalty from Kylian Mbappé. However, Mbappé opened the scoring shortly after the hour mark before providing the assist for Ousmane Dembélé’s second goal.
France advanced to the semi-finals, where it will face the winner of the Spain-Belgium quarter-final, while Morocco fell short of repeating its historic run to the semi-finals at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
