The Pentagon announced on Tuesday that it has reduced the number of US combat brigades deployed in Europe from four to three, returning troop levels to those seen in 2021, amid continued pressure from Washington on European allies to strengthen their defense capabilities.
In a statement, the Pentagon said it had lowered the total number of combat brigades stationed in Europe from four to three.
According to a report by the US Congress, each combat brigade consists of between 4,000 and 4,700 troops.
