Russia and Ukraine exchanged large-scale aerial attacks overnight, with both sides reporting the interception of hundreds of drones.
Russia’s Defense Ministry said its air defenses had shot down 808 Ukrainian drones over approximately 20 Russian regions and the Crimean Peninsula. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Air Force reported intercepting 181 Russian drones.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Moscow of continuing its attacks despite the resumption of diplomatic talks aimed at ending the war.
On the diplomatic front, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov described a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff as detailed and candid.
Ushakov said Witkoff had presented proposals concerning a potential peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, as diplomatic efforts to find a negotiated settlement continued.
