Russia announced that its forces had taken control of the town of Vilne in the Dnipropetrovsk region, saying its military advance was continuing.

Ukraine, meanwhile, said Russia had launched its largest ballistic missile attack since the start of the war, firing 41 missiles, mainly at the capital, Kyiv.

The attack left one person dead and several civilians injured.

Moscow said it had targeted Ukrainian military-industrial facilities, infrastructure, and ports.
