Sharm El-Sheikh Hosts Indirect Talks Between Hamas, U.S., and Israel on Gaza Ceasefire

The Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh is hosting indirect talks on Monday between delegations from Hamas, the United States, and Israeli authorities, aiming to end the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip that has lasted for two years.

The talks come nearly a week after U.S. President Donald Trump unveiled his plan for the besieged territory, with the White House reportedly increasing pressure on negotiators to reach an agreement, according to AFP.

The meeting is set to discuss mechanisms for implementing Trump’s plan, including halting military operations in Gaza, arranging a prisoner exchange, releasing hostages, and freeing Palestinian detainees held in Israeli prisons.
