The humanitarian aid ship Madeline, part of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, arrived off the Egyptian coast on Saturday as it continues its journey toward the besieged Gaza Strip, according to organizers cited by the German Press Agency (DPA).
The vessel, carrying 12 activists and loaded with humanitarian supplies, set sail from Sicily last Sunday. The mission aims to break the long-standing Israeli blockade on Gaza and draw international attention to the worsening humanitarian crisis in the territory.
The effort comes amid growing concern from the United Nations, which warns that Gaza’s more than two million residents face the imminent threat of famine due to the ongoing siege and military escalation.
