Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has approved the establishment of a “National Defense Council” to enhance defense plans and the capabilities of the armed forces.
The council includes the president, heads of the three branches of government, representatives of the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as well as commanders of the Revolutionary Guard and the army, and the Minister of Intelligence.
This decision is based on Article 176 of the Constitution to enhance military and security coordination in the country.
