WFP: 3 Million Syrians Facing Severe Hunger Amid Wheat Shortage

The World Food Programme warned Monday that over 3 million Syrians are facing severe hunger, with more than half the population suffering from food insecurity.

Syria needs to import around 2.55 million tons of wheat this year, while FAO estimates a shortfall of 2.73 million tons—enough to feed 16 million people for a year.
