Several people were killed on Monday in an explosion inside a vehicle on the Damascus–Homs highway near Qara, in Syria’s Damascus countryside governorate, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
The agency reported that ambulance and Civil Defense teams arrived at the scene and recovered the victims’ bodies, while relevant authorities began examining the site to determine the nature and cause of the explosion.
Authorities did not disclose the exact number or identities of those killed, nor did they provide information about possible injuries or the cause of the blast.
Damascus countryside had previously witnessed an explosion inside a passenger bus in the city of Jaramana on August 6, which killed two people and injured 13 others, according to an earlier official casualty report.
