Escalating protests in Indonesia, fueled by public anger over police violence and widening economic disparities, have forced President Prabowo Subianto to cancel his scheduled state visit to China.
The demonstrations intensified after a ride-hailing motorcycle driver was killed when he was run over by a security forces vehicle on Thursday.
Protesters have set fires in the streets, while authorities have vowed a firm response to the rioting and looting.
