A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck off the eastern coast of Indonesia on Friday, with no immediate reports of casualties or damage, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 120 kilometers off North Maluku Province, while Indonesian authorities confirmed there was no tsunami threat.

Indonesia lies along the Pacific Ring of Fire, making it one of the world’s most seismically active regions.
