Indonesian police fired tear gas and rubber bullets at protesters around two university campuses in the city of Bandung, resulting in serious injuries among students.

Student groups have refuted the police’s account, accusing them of launching a “brutal attack” and directly targeting them with tear gas inside the campus while they were administering first aid to the injured.

These clashes come amid escalating protests across the country.
