US President Donald Trump on Monday said Iran faces a choice between reaching a deal over its nuclear program or being subjected to a new strike targeting its capabilities.
Speaking while hosting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Florida, Trump said he had heard that Iran was attempting to rebuild its nuclear facilities, adding: “If that’s the case, we have to eliminate them. We will deliver a decisive blow.”
At the same time, Trump stressed that he remains open to negotiating a deal with Tehran, describing it as a “smarter” agreement. He added that without the strike on Iran, “there would have been no chance for peace in the Middle East.”
